This bureau establishes each division and office according to” the Public Health Bureau of the Kaohsiung County Government Organization Regulation" provision, being in control of the following items respectively :

1. Medical Affairs Division: Management of medical service organizations and personnel, the medical treatment quality control, emergent medical treatment rescue, mental hygiene, long-term care, the aborigine medical affairs and health promotions, the relevant of national health insurance, and other relevant items.
   
2. Pharmaceutical Affairs Division: The pharmacy and medicine business in the county, the cosmetics management, and other relevant items.
   
3. Food Safety Division: The food hygiene, the health food management, the citizen's nutrition, and other relevant items.
   
4. Health Promoting Division: The health of the woman and child, the prevention and screenings of the cancer,? the prevention and care of middle and older age diseases, the prevention and care of the occupational diseases, the oral cavity hygiene, the eyesight health care, the prevention of the cigarette hazards, the health education, the health center management, and other relevant items.
   
5. Disease Control Division: The prevention and control of the infectious diseases, the business hygiene management, the health managements of the foreign workers, and other relevant items.
   
6. Laboratory Division: The public hygiene examinations and other related items.
   
7. Planning Division: The health plan, assessing, investigation, service for the people, the information, the operation of the legal institution, and other relevant items.
   
8. General Affairs Office: Documents, files, sealing, general affairs, cashier, and other items that don't belong to each division and office.
   
9. Personnel Office: handling the personnel management according to law and so on.
   
10. Accounting Office: handling the annual budget and accounting according to law, and do the statistical items.
    
11. Civil Service Ethics Office: handling the civil service ethics business according to law.

By law, this bureau supervised 27 health centers that was belonged to Kaohsiung County, the Gang Shan County Hospital, and the Feng Shan County Hospital (Currently, the two county hospitals implements privately operated: the Feng Shan County Hospital entrusts the Chang Gung Hospital in Kaohsiung to conduct, and the Gang Shan County Hospital entrusts the Show Chwan Hospital in Changhua to manage).

Besides, according to preventing the occurrence of the public's mental diseases and responding to the approach of advanced age society, established "the Community Mental Health Center" and "the Long-Term Care Demonstration Center" by wearing the mission set temporarily.
